Suffering is not caused by God

Suffering is not Caused by God… Apply

God doesn’t cause suffering. Suffering is a result of (1) Satan, (2) Human Sin, or (3) chance and unforeseen circumstances.

Life is hard. No matter how rich you are or how isolated you are, you are going to experience pain.

You can’t hide from suffering. We all eventually get touched by hardship. The problem is that most people don’t know the source of their suffering and many faker Christians imply or even say that God is the cause of this suffering.

Yahweh God is our Father, Creator. He loves people and wants the best for all of us. He wants us to know and love Him and to be obedient children. God is love. (1 John 4:8) He that does not love has not come to know God, because God is love.

Yahweh cares for you. (1 Peter 5:6-7) Humble yourselves, therefore, under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt YOU in due time; while YOU throw all YOUR anxiety upon him, because he cares for YOU.

God doesn’t tempt people. Many faker Christians imply that God is testing them and tempting them to see the strength of their faith. This is bad theology and not true. Satan tempts people. People give into their own desires and sin. Sin then leads to death. Jesus’ brother James reminds us that YHWH doesn’t tempt people. (James 1:13-14) When being under trial, let no one say: “I am being tried by God.” For with evil things God cannot be tried nor does he himself try anyone.

Suffering is caused by one of three things:  (1) Satan (2) Human Sin, and (3) Chance or Unforeseen Circumstances

Satan: 1 John 5:19 reveals to us the simple truth that Satan is the ruler of the world: The whole world is lying in the power of the wicked one. Satan and his demons mislead people into sin and evilness. For an example of suffering caused by pure evil, think of all the thousands of people killed each week by narcotic traffickers and drug dealers as cocaine grown in Colombia is flown from Venezuela into Central America, then transported through Mexico to the hands of a despicable drug dealer who sells it to the teenage daughter of your faker Christian Sunday school teacher. This whole process is evil and Satan loves to steal, kill, destroy, and make drug addicts.

Human Sin: Sin came into the world thru one man, Adam.  Romans 3:23 reminds us of the simple fact that we are all sinners: For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. Jeremiah 10:23 illustrates that men, left up to themselves, always mess things up: I well know, O YHWH, that to earthling man his way does not belong. It does not belong to man who is walking even to direct his step. We have to endure the consequences of sin. If you sin by stealing from your employer and are caught, you will go suffer by getting fired and going to jail.

Chance or Unforeseen Circumstances: Accidents happen. People find out they are allergic to bee stings when the antidote is not available. Motorcycle riders know that they take their lives into their own hands every time they turn on their bikes. A car pops a tire and people are hurt in an accident.  Ecclesiastes 9:11-12 tells us that we are all vulnerable to chance occurrences and unforeseen anomalies: I returned to see under the sun that the swift do not have the race, nor the mighty ones the battle, nor do the wise also have the food, nor do the understanding ones also have the riches, nor do even those having knowledge have the favor; because time and unforeseen occurrence befall them all. For man also does not know his time. Just like fishes that are being taken in an evil net, and like birds that are being taken in a trap, so the sons of men themselves are being ensnared at a calamitous time, when it falls upon them suddenly.

My teenage daughter just talked to my wife and I recently about this very subject of suffering. She was concerned about how a loving God could allow this world to be so bad and why would He cause so much suffering. It was a very real and heart felt conversation. We explained to her that God does not cause suffering and showed her the causes of suffering. But just knowing the causes of suffering doesn’t make suffering go away. But for sure, knowing the causes of suffering prevents you from blaming YHWH and drifting away from Him.

YHWH never makes people suffer. God is love.

Your suffering is either part of the devil’s schemes, the consequences of your sin or the sins of others, or a result of chance and unforeseen circumstances. Please never blame YHWH for human suffering.
