Jesus is a Stumbling Stone

Daily "Words of Wisdom" from Apply

“It is to YOU, therefore, that he is precious, because YOU are believers; but to those not believing, “the identical stone that the builders rejected has become [the] head of [the] corner,” and “a stone of stumbling and a rock-mass of offense.” These are stumbling because they are disobedient to the word. To this very end they were also appointed” (1 Peter 1:7-8).

Jesus was the stone of stumbling and many will trip and fall because they misuse, abuse, or ignore Jesus.

If you ignore a big stone in your path you are going to trip over it. If you are like the Jews who ignored Jesus then eventually you will trip over him.

A hypocritical church leader who teaches traditions and false doctrine can argue with and kick against the truth as much as they want, but they will never win. The solidness of the truth trips many and causes them to stumble.

Just think of how the Pharisees fought against and were threatened by Jesus. They kicked the corner stone and even had Jesus murdered. They will stumble during the great judgement when they will receive their just reward.

One can fight against and ignore the truth as much as they want.  But eventually, they will have to deal with it. And when they do, they will stumble and trip.
