Obedience is Essential

Obedience is Essential….Do you follow Directions?

Obedience is Essential. Yahweh’s rules are designed to give you peace and joy and abundant, everlasting life.

Hypocrites follow traditions of men not the bible. Matthew 15:3 In reply he said to them: “Why is it YOU also overstep the commandment of God because of YOUR tradition?”

Real Christians pay attention and are obedient. Isaiah 48: 17-18 This is what YHWH has said, your Repurchaser, the Holy One of Israel: “I, YHWH, am your God, the One teaching you to benefit [yourself], the One causing you to tread in the way in which you should walk. O if only you would actually pay attention to my commandments! Then your peace would become just like a river, and your righteousness like the waves of the sea.

Only a few are chosen. Matthew 7: 21-23 Not everyone saying to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter into the kingdom of the heavens, but the one doing the will of my Father who is in the heavens will. Many will say to me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and expel demons in your name, and perform many powerful works in your name?’ And yet then I will confess to them: I never knew YOU! Get away from me, YOU workers of lawlessness.

This is an essential scripture for understanding obedience. We see that Jesus, the fair judge, will say he never knew people in verse 22 who call Jesus “Lord, Lord” and who did amazing works in his name.  Back in the time of Jesus, to say someone’s name twice was to imply intimacy with them. This means they loved Jesus. To call Jesus LORD (all capital letters) would mean that they confused him (Jesus) with YHWH. So to call him Lord (Only the L in capital letters) means their doctrine was correct and they knew Jesus to be their master, leader, and the son of God. And wow, these people did great works like prophecy and expel demons. Yet Jesus never knew them. Simply loving Jesus is not enough. And having correct doctrine is not enough. And doing great works is not enough. Obedience to YHWH is perhaps what makes the difference.

If you have a lack of common sense or judgment and believe the twisted Calvinistic teaching of “once saved, always saved,” then please reread Matthew 7:13-23 (above) and pray about Philippians 2:12: Consequently, my beloved ones, in the way that YOU have always obeyed, not during my presence only, but now much more readily during my absence, keep working out YOUR own salvation with fear and trembling.

Fear God and be Obedient. Ecclesiastes 12:13 The conclusion of the matter, everything having been heard, is: Fear the [true] God and keep his commandments. For this is the whole [obligation] of man.

Be a slave of Obedience. Romans 6:16 Do YOU not know that if YOU keep presenting yourselves to anyone as slaves to obey him, YOU are slaves of him because YOU obey him, either of sin with death in view or of obedience with righteousness in view?

The current world situation is a consequence of disobedience. Deuteronomy 28:19 Cursed will you be when you come in, and cursed will you be when you go out.

It is too easy to drift away from biblical teachings. If you follow the people on your left and right at church then you will quickly drift. If you follow your spiritual leaders you will quickly drift. If you follow the leaders of the world, the movie and music stars, the sports heroes, the “role models,” or the lifestyle trends of this world then you are going to drift.

Friendship with the world means being an enemy of God. James 4:4 Adulteresses, do YOU not know that the friendship with the world is enmity with God? Whoever, therefore, wants to be a friend of the world constitutes himself an enemy of God.

Love for Yahweh means obedience. 1 John 5:3 For this is what the love of God means, that we observe his commandments; and yet his commandments are not burdensome.

I can’t stress obedience enough. The bible is so clear on this point. You must be obedient to what Yahweh says through the scriptures. You can’t be a Christian and in a right standing with Yahweh if you are disobedient.
