Baptism is Important

Daily "Words of Wisdom" from Apply

Go, therefore, and make disciples of people of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit” (Matthew 28:19).

Baptism is important. Otherwise Jesus would not have told us to make disciples and to baptize.

The hypocritical church tells you that it is acceptable to get baptized as an infant or as a lukewarm Christian.

Biblical Truth tells us that we are to learn and become obedient to bible principles. Next, we must become a disciple of Jesus, following his footsteps closely. Then we can get baptized by someone who has the authority to baptize.

Being baptized symbolizes becoming a new person. As your old self enters the water you die to your old self and are symbolically washed cleaned. Your new personality emerges, completely focused on honoring Yahweh with your life.

Baptism requires three things:

  1. A decision by someone mature who accepts the word of God, lives in accordance with biblical principles, and who wants to dedicate his life to honoring Yahweh
  2. Water submersion
  3. A male baptizer who accepts the word of God and lives in accordance with biblical principles

Of course, there are exceptions. And I would never want to put Yahweh in a box. But trust me, the exceptions are rare.
